The Land Rover 110 range was introduced to the UK in 1983, and itsname is derived from the 110-inch wheelbase. In 1984, the 90 range was introduced (90-inch wheelbase), and the 2495cc diesel engine superseded the smaller unit. For the 1991 model year, the 90 and 110 ranges were re-christened Land Rover Defender, and received a heavily revised 200 TDI turbocharged direct-injection engine.
