The Mk3 Nissan Micra was introduced in January 2003. It was initially introduced with a choice of three engines (1.0, 1.2 and 1.4 litre), although the 1.0-litre version was quickly discontinued. A diesel version was also available, and from 2005 a 1.6-litre petrol engine was introduced to the range. There were 3- and 5-door hatchback models available, as well as a 2-door convertible. The Micra had a high equipment level; air-conditioning was standard on all but the lowest models in the range. Higher-spec models featured climate control. Remote central locking was standard, although some models featured Nissan’s ‘Intelligent key system’ (I key). This system makes the mechanical key redundant.
