The Peugeot 206 was introduced in 1998 as a 3- or 5-door hatchback. Originally, the 206 was available with a choice of 1.1-, 1.4-, and 1.6-litre petrol engines and a 1.9 diesel engine. In 2003, the 1.4-litre 16-valve petrol engine was introduced. In the autumn of 1999, Peugeot introduced the 2.0 litre turbodiesel. In 2001 the 1.4 litre HDi diesel engine was introduced. Other additions to the 206 range include the Sports Wagon and the Cabriolet Coupe models. A wide range of standard and optional equipment is available, including air-conditioning, central locking, electric windows and front, side and curtain airbags.
