Volkswagen launched the Mk6 Golf in January 2009 as a 3- or 5-door hatchback and later as a 5-door estate. The wide range of engines included 1.2-, 1.4-, 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol turbo and non-turbo versions, as well as naturally aspirated and turbocharged 1.6- and 2.0-litre diesel. All the engines are of a well-proven design and, provided regular maintenance is carried out, are unlikely to give trouble. Five- or six-speed manual gearboxes were fitted, with six- or seven-speed DSG semi-automatic transmissions also available. Our repair manual for the VW Golf is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
