Key features:
The Volvo V70 was introduced in 2000, then was facelifted in 2004. Although visually quite similar to the old V70, the new model introduced a range of improved diesel engines including, from 2009, an economy-focused ‘DRIVe’ unit and from 2010 the replacement of the 4-cylinder 2.0 litre unit with a 5-cylinder version of the same capacity. Also new for this model were redesigned interiors, and a range of new comfort and safety features. Transmissions were either 5- or 6-speed manual, or 6-speed ‘Geartronic’ automatic. A wide range of standard and optional equipment was available, including a comprehensive airbag system and Side Impact Protection System (SIPS). Provided that regular servicing is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, the Volvo V70 should provide many years of reliable service. Despite the engine’s complexity, the engine compartment is relatively spacious, and most of the items requiring frequent attention are easily accessible. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Volvo repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Volvo V70 repair manual will guide you through servicing and repairing your vehicle
